Ishiuchi Miyako will be in conversation with Circe Henestrosa who initially commissioned and curated Frida. Tickets are limited and free of charge. They will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

 

Circe Henestrosa completed dual M.A. degrees in Fashion Curation and Cultural Leadership at London College of Fashion and City University in 2009 respectively, winning a Distinction for her thesis Frida’s White Cabinet, an exhibition of artist Frida Kahlo’s wardrobe to be presented at the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City in 2012. She currently heads the Fashion Media and Industries Programme at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, where she lectures on Fashion Curation, Fashion Theory, Leadership and International Fashion Management. Her research explores age-old traditions interpreted in contemporary fashion, exemplified by a joint Singapore/ Philippines weaving show and a co-curated Korea/Singapore design exhibition.  Prior to this, she led the British Council's Arts Department in Mexico for 6 years. She was author and editor of the book Frida by Ishiuchi, published by Editorial RM (2013) and in 2005, she was author and co-editor of the publication Building a New Model for Museums in the 21st Century.
