Michael Hoppen Gallery is delighted to be participating in PhotoLondon 2020 and we would love to invite you to join us at our virtual booth. We are proud to bring a selection of works by iconic contemporary artists we represent, including Sarah Moon, Nobuyoshi Araki and Peter Beard.

Last month we celebrated the opening of Sarah Moon’s major retrospective, PasséPrésent, at
Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris. One of the legends of fashion photography, Sarah Moon’s painterly eye for colour and ability to suffuse pictures with an atmosphere of romantic melancholy saw her rise to acclaim in the pages of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Life. This diverse selection, which includes landscapes, nudes, and fashion portraits, reflects the breadth and brilliance of Moon’s career.

Nobuyoshi Araki is a Japanese photographer who has courted controversy in both his life and art. Over the decades Araki’s focus has returned to the subject of flowers many times; He has described his fascination with capturing how flowers are enriched with life as they approach death, and his desire to capture their fleeting sensuality.

Following Peter Beard’s death at the age of 82 earlier this year, the art world has paid tribute to his colourful life as an artist, photographer and writer. Beard documented his travels and photographs within his diaries for seven decades, often focussing on his life at Hog Ranch in Kenya.

We hope that you enjoy visiting our virtual booth, and please do feel free to make an appointment at the gallery to come in and see these works in person.
