Michael Hoppen Gallery is proud to present Albarrán Cabrera: A reality, a new exhibition by the gallery’s celebrated artists, featuring a diverse range of works that exemplify their distinctive approaches and refined techniques, including newly created large-scale pieces.
The exhibition title reflects the artists’ philosophical approach: a photograph is not reality itself, but a highly subjective and personal representation of it. Through evocative imagery, predominantly focused on the natural world, Albarrán Cabrera offers a powerful sense of escapism, inviting the viewer into a realm of memory and contemplation.
Their distinctive vision is achieved using intricate, hand-applied printing methods on fine materials. These include processes like Platinum/Palladium and unique pigment prints on delicate Japanese paper, often layered with gold leaf, imbuing the works with an ethereal glow and complex texture that challenges and deepens our perception of A reality.
