Overview
The Photography Show, AIPAD 2022, Center415 • Stand 222
After what seems like an eternity, we are so looking forward to once again being in New York for The Photography Show presented by AIPAD. To be amongst you, our friends, and also our professional colleagues again makes us very excited to see what each dealer will bring to the fair; certainly this brings a sense of fun and normality back to life. We have spent a considerable time trying to curate the right mix of material to present at the fair and we sincerely hope that our selection will delight the eye.

You may have seen a work by Manuel Franquelo that David Campany included in his first show at the ICP, Actual Size, earlier this year. If not, there is an opportunity to see this wonderful piece of work on our stand. We will also present new work by Lucas Foglia. This is a newly finished project that focuses on prayer in nature. In a divided time in the United States, Foglia wants to point to a common ground. The people he photographed from every major religion share the belief that wild places are both a refuge and at the same time, our collective responsibility.

We remain committed to the work of the great Japanese post-war era artists such as Masahisa Fukase and we are continuously looking to find work by other great artists from the same period. We are proud to present for the first time in the USA, Tetsuya Ichimura, whose book Come Up has been a favourite of mine for many years. To find early vintage prints after so many years has been very exciting, and we hope you will enjoy the prints themselves. Ishiuchi Miyako, one of the most revered and important contemporary artists in Japan, will also be represented by a moving series of works from her Hiroshima series.

Other notable pictures include a substantial Peter Beard. This imposing work, built from hundreds of individual collaged photographs, will delight those who have an interest in Beard’s work which highlights his friendships with other artists such as Francis Bacon, Salvador Dali and here, with Andy Warhol. It has remained unseen for the past 23 years and is in perfect condition. And further works are a rare Kati Horna vintage print of Leonora Carrington performing in one of Horna’s surreal staged settings, Oda a la necrophilia, which will share the walls with a very rare vintage print by Bill Brandt of Giacometti’s eye.

And finally, last but by no means least, beautiful works by Siân Davey, Sarah Moon and Tim Walker will round off our presentation at AIPAD this year. Tim Walkers' celebrated V&A exhibition Wonderful Things, currently in Asia, will land at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles in May 2023.
